This policy keeps Hostoa fast, safe and lawful for everyone. It applies to every plan, to websites and content you host or link to, to email sent from our servers, and to your clients if you are a reseller. It is part of our Terms of Service.
The short version
Do not use Hostoa to send spam, break the law, attack others, or use up resources in a way that harms our servers and other customers. If you do, we may suspend your services, with or without notice.
1. Spam and unwanted messages
- No unsolicited bulk or commercial email, messages or comments, and no sending to purchased, scraped or harvested lists.
- No mail relays, open proxies or services that send mail on behalf of others without proper consent.
- Email you send must include a working way to opt out and must follow the anti-spam laws that apply to you and your recipients.
- No use of Hostoa to host or advertise spam, including links to sites promoted by spam.
2. Illegal and harmful content
You may not host, link to or distribute:
- Content that is illegal where it is hosted or where it is aimed, including child sexual abuse material (which we report to the authorities), terrorist content, and content that incites violence or hatred against people.
- Material that infringes copyright, trademarks or other rights, including pirated software, films, music or books, and counterfeit goods.
- Phishing pages, scams, fake shops, fraudulent offers or sites that pretend to be someone else.
- Malware, exploit kits, botnet controllers or tools whose main purpose is to damage or break into systems.
- Unlawful gambling, illegal pharmaceuticals or other goods and services that require a licence you do not have.
- Other people's personal data collected or shared unlawfully.
3. Attacks and abuse of networks
No port scanning, vulnerability scanning of third parties, denial-of-service attacks, credential stuffing, brute-force attacks, or attempts to access accounts, servers or data you are not authorised to access. No hiding the source of traffic to evade abuse controls.
4. Resource abuse
Our hosting is for websites. To keep servers fair for everyone, you may not:
- Run cryptocurrency mining, proof-of-work or similar workloads.
- Run VPNs, proxies, anonymisers, game servers, torrent trackers or peer-to-peer file sharing.
- Use hosting mainly as storage or backup for files that are not part of your website (for example large media archives or personal file dumps).
- Run scripts or processes that consistently use excessive CPU, memory, disk activity or bandwidth for your plan, or create unusually large numbers of files.
- Run unrestricted automated crawlers or scrapers that load our servers.
If your site is using too many resources we will usually contact you first and help you fix it or move to a larger plan. If it is harming other customers we may limit or suspend it straight away.
5. Security of your own site
You are responsible for keeping your software, plugins, themes and passwords up to date. A compromised site that sends spam or attacks others breaks this policy even if you did not intend it; we may suspend it until it is cleaned.
6. What happens if this policy is broken
Depending on how serious it is, we may:
- Ask you to fix the problem within a set time.
- Limit, suspend or remove the affected website, email or account — immediately and without notice for serious violations, illegal content or anything that threatens our systems or other customers.
- Delete the content, and cancel your services without a refund.
- Report the matter to the authorities and cooperate with lawful requests.
- Refuse future services to you.
Repeat or serious violations can lead to permanent termination.
7. Reporting abuse
If you think something hosted on Hostoa breaks this policy, email [email protected] with the web address, what you found and any evidence (screenshots, email headers). We review reports promptly. For copyright complaints, include the work concerned, where it is, and your contact details. We may pass your report to the customer concerned, without your personal details where possible.
Effective 19 October 2026.
